BRCTH is hosting our 3rd workshop on the basics of the Masterson Method®, an integrated, multi-modality method of equine massage. It is a unique, interactive method in which you learn to recognize and use the horses responses to your touch to find and release accumulated tension in key junctions of the body that most affect performance. In contrast to most traditional modalities, it enables the horse to actively participate in the process of releasing tension. Gain an increased connection with your horse as you give the gift of gentle bodywork.
The workshop is open to EAAT (equine-assisted activities and therapies) personnel, as well as horse owners interested in learning how to improve the well-being and performance of their horses. Attendees will first be introduced to the method during a morning lecture and demonstration and will then have the opportunity to practice simple, basic techniques on their own or BRCTH horses in the afternoon. Further training opportunities will be discussed, including training to become a Masterson Method Equine Specialist for EAAT personnel who want to learn additional techniques as well as how to teach the basics to program participants in the therapeutic environment.
